History
Beal University Canada (BUC) was established in 2023 to meet the unique needs of the Atlantic region of Canada, equipping forward-looking individuals with real-world skills for careers in high-demand nursing fields. BUC currently offers the Bachelor of Science Nursing degree. BUC was inspired from its sister university in Bangor, Maine – Beal University (Beal), which was founded as a business college in the U.S. by Mary E. Beal in 1891 in Bangor, Maine. Over the next 130 years Beal evolved into a comprehensive institution with diverse academic offerings serving a wide range of students within the state of Maine and beyond its borders. In 2020, Beal College became Beal University after receiving formal authorization from its accreditor. Beal’s strong academic programs, experienced faculty, and commitment to experiential learning continues to be the strength of the University. Today, Beal University offers programs from diploma to graduate-level degrees facilitating all levels of academic pursuits to be achieved as well as enabling graduates to continue to complete advanced degrees.
